The brightness of the color is great - I just wish it connected as well as my other govee lights (aura, flow pro, H6001 normal govee color bulbs). It seems to not be as snappy of a reaction when attempting to turn on or off in the app or it fails. It has the latest update so I’m unsure if it’s an inherent issue or if it got damaged in shipping somehow.
As good as the most expensive ones on the market.
Bright, colorful and responsive.
The, Govee RGBWW Bluetooth StarPal Table Lamp is nice, very nice and satisfies my needs/wants for lowering energy cost with adequate lighting and/or an enhanced colorful setting!
Great lamp! Easy setup and easy to use! Lots of different functions and effects
This is a cool multi-color smart LED lamp similar to some of the Philips Hue products but more reasonably priced. The lamp looks rather like a cereal bowl. You can place it flat on its back, so it beams its light up to the ceiling, or tilt it to one side so it projects lights onto a nearby wall. You can use this device as a portable lamp, as it has a built-in rechargeable battery, or plug it into the wall using the generous USB cable and wall charger provided.I prefer the latter because then I can take advantage of the extensive timer functions in the lamp's app.Yes, this lamp comes without a remote control. Instead, you download the free app provided and use your phone or tablet as a remote. The app includes a number of functions, some useful, others questionable:1) Timer -- you can set a number of daily or weekly on/off routines. I like to have the lamp come on automatically every evening and shut off before I go to bed.2) Music-responsive -- this is probably my favorite function and again offers a number of convenient options, including volume sensitivity and whether you want the lamp's built-in microphone or that of your phone or tablet to pick up the sound to which the lamp responds. You can also choose between a dynamic, flashing response or something a bit less frenetic with gentler phasing effects. Unfortunately, because the lamp is essentially one LED source with many colors, only one color shows at a time.3) "Scenes" -- my second favorite function, these are a selection of impressionistic lighting patterns grouped under the not very descriptive themes of Natural, Life, Festival, and Emotion. Some of these patterns are more intuitive than others, like lightning, candlelight, night light, firefly, romantic, and fireworks. Others are more abstract, like cornfield, canyon, and morning, with colors vaguely related to those settings.4) "Colors" -- you can select from any of the stock colors presented or customize your own, and the lamp will display that particular color.5) "Effects Lab" and "DIY" -- for the life of me, I can't figure out what these do or how to use them. No documentation is provided with the app, nor has Govee provided any much-needed videos showing how these functions work. This last point explains why I have deducted one star from this review. Any manufacturer who thinks their app is so intuitive to use that no documentation is necessary is only fooling themselves and frustrating their customers. Our time is valuable, so don't make us guess what a function does or how to use it!Overall, though, I recommend this lamp and hope Govee will post some proper instructions or videos explaining the finer details of the app provided.
