When I was a teenager, I often saw other people’s cars tricked out with cool accessories that lit them up like glow sticks at night. I wished I could have a car that looked like theirs, but I realized that it took a lot of money and effort to install lights like those. If you’ve ever shared that dream with me, you’ll be just as thrilled as I was with Govee car interior lights. Unlike many cabin mood lighting products, these LED Strip Lights are easy to install, simple to operate, and won’t empty your wallet. Here’s why I think Govee LED lights are a bright idea. Govee Car Interior Lights Review: A simple LED-strip mood lighting solution Product: Car LED strip lights Manufacturer: Govee MSRP: $32.99 (often on sale for $21.99-$24.99 on Amazon) Contents: 4-piece DC 12V-powered LED strip light set Product Information Unlike most mood lighting accessories that require you to wire the front and back or left and right separately, Govee LED light sets can illuminate all four seats with a single unit. It consists of four PVC rubber strips — each with 12 LED bulbs — connected by a wishbone-shaped cord that originates from a DC 12V outlet. The RGB lights can be tweaked to create millions of distinct hues. You can operate the lights in two ways: either the remote that’s connected to the LED strip or an app Govee offers. The controller allows you to choose the color and brightness, and the app lets you customize which color and pattern combinations you want. The coolest feature is a music-matching display system that monitors and adjusts the lights to the rhythm and tone of the music you’re playing through the speakers. It’s not like DJ lights that resemble a rave, and the adjustments aren’t instantaneous, but the steady cycling through of patterns is a nice alternate to the constant ambient lighting setting. Product Packaging & Quality A set of Govee cabin lights comes in a plastic bag in a slim white box. The wires are easy to unravel due to being carefully packaged with twist-ties (so it doesn’t feel like you’re untangling Christmas lights). The box and the packaging are quite durable, so you shouldn’t have to worry about it being damaged in the mail. The cords are thick and firm, and they stood up to the yanking and stomping tests I put them through. The LED segments are softer and were slightly bent from being in the box, so it took some time to flatten them out before they were straight enough to install. The LED strips are waterproof and low-heat, and I verified both of these claims. Even after a night of using the lights and spilling a drink on them, they were safe to touch. Installation The Govee light set comes with a small pamphlet of step-by-step instructions in English, French, and German (no Spanish, unfortunately). It describes the five steps for installation. After checking that the product works, you unravel it and lay out the cords throughout the cabin following the diagram provided: through the center console, then split across the footwells of the back seats, and up along each door to the undersides of the dashboard. This allows you to cover the whole cabin with one light set. After you decide where to put the lights, you clean off the spots and use the 3M adhesive tape to stick the LED strips in place. Govee also includes two other supplementary methods of securing the strips: wire ties and screws. From my experience, the 3M tape didn’t last more than a couple weeks in my car when parked in the hot sun in the middle of summer, so I’d recommend employing all three methods for long-term results. It took me some time to find the best route to thread the cord between and underneath the seats, particularly because of where the single cord leading from the 12V outlet splits. It splits right over the center console, which makes it impossible to hide. If the split were closer to the outlet, you could separate the cords and lay them on either side of the center console. If the split were further back, you could split them behind the center console in the back row. If you have a 12V outlet in your center console, you might avoid this dilemma, but unfortunately, I don’t. Overall Assessment: Does It Do What It Claims? Full disclosure: I liked these lights a lot more than I thought I would. The quality, brightness, and ease of use are surprisingly high considering how low the price is. Once you install the lights, they’re easy to use. The 12V plug has an on/off button on it, which lets you leave it plugged in indefinitely. That’s great, because the plug is a bit big and can take some forceful pushing to fit into the outlet. For reference, I drive a Hyundai Veloster. It comes with ambient lighting in the front footwells, so I was able to compare the brightness of the OEM lights to Govee lights. Clearly, as shown above, there’s no contest. The Govee lights give off a full, even, vivid glow that’s not too bright or distracting to the driver. The app was easy to use and didn’t take much work to sync so I could start using it. I like the variety of ways you can customize the lights and even have some pre-programmed settings you can choose. The app sometimes took time to load or respond, but that may be because I have an older phone. The cord length may be an issue in some vehicles. Being that my Veloster is a compact hatchback and the cord’s length didn’t give me much wiggle room when laying it out, I’m skeptical that it would be long enough to fit SUVs or trucks–though admittedly I didn’t check that. These Govee car interior lights are a great introduction to cabin mood lighting for anyone who’s wanted to try them out but aren’t sure where to start or if they would like them. This LED solution is affordable, easy to install without permanent damage, and give you a taste of color lighting solutions. If you end up loving the look of vibrant mood lighting in your car, you could choose to upgrade to a more high-end, permanent system. And if you don’t like them, you didn’t spend very much! I, personally, liked these quite a bit and think they look fantastic in my sporty blue Veloster Turbo. I had been planning on only briefly installing the lights to test them for this review, but having seen them in action, they’re going to become a permanent fixture. source: https://thenewswheel.com/review-of-govee-car-interior-lights-colorful-affordable-led-strip-lights/

Most smart LED strips come with color options, but they’re typically limited to an all or nothing scenario. Either your entire strip can be white, or red, or blue, but not white, red, and blue. Govee DreamColor LEDs buck that trend. For the most part, Govee’s $33 DreamColor LED strips start out looking the same as other smart LED strips. They arrive wrapped in a wheel, they feature sticky tape so you can adhere them to any surface, and the lights have an app for phone control. You don’t get much else in the box other than basic instructions and extra stick-on mounts to help hold an LED strip in place. But Govee promises more than the usual LED strip. Instead of a strip that can only show one color at a time, the DreamColor LED strip can show multiple colors. Have a favorite sports team? You can light up the strip with their colors. Are you feeling patriotic? These lights do red, white, and blue (or whatever colors your flag might be). Usually, you’d have to buy separate lights and program each color individually, but not so with Govee. And that’s thanks in part to its app. A Functional App That Isn’t Much to Look At I’m going to be honest, Govee’s app (for Android and iOS) isn’t beautiful. It’s about as bare-bones and basic as you get. You have tabs for scenes, music (more on that in a bit), and color options. And you’ll find basic timers and sliders for brightness. None of it looks fantastic. But the important part is, it’s an easy to navigate app. Everything works in a straightforward fashion. Most options are things you’ve seen elsewhere. You can set a timer to turn the lights off, choose a scene, so your lights behave in a particular fashion, or pick a color for the LED strip. But on the color page, you’ll find an unusual option: DIY. In DIY, you can create custom scenes that set up multiple colors across your strip. Once you pick the colors, you choose how to disperse them across the strip. Of the three options (whole, subsection, and circulation), I like circulation the best. Your color choices are dispersed evenly across the strip, and then they move in a marquee-like effect. It’s pretty neat. It’s worth noting that these are Wi-Fi enabled lights and you can control them with Alexa or Google Assistant. You get all the usual options like on, off, dimming, and basic color choices. You can tell Alexa to turn the strip to red for instance, but not to a multi-colored option. Decent Lights with an Annoying Controller So how do the lights look? Pretty good. They’re on par with other budget LED strips I’ve tested as far as brightness and color go. If it weren’t for the fact that it can display multiple colors at once, I wouldn’t know the difference between this strip and other smart LEDs. But they do display multiple colors, so you can have a lot of fun with that. The app includes pre-set scenes, and most of those are just so-so. They’re simple effects like mimicking a sunrise or candlelight. For pre-set options, the real star is the music options. With music sync turned on, your lights will pulse with the beat of the music. You can choose from three different effects, and all of them are good. I’d love to show some video, but video and pulsing lights don’t mix. But it’s something similar to the light strips DJs use at a concert, just in your home. Unfortunately, Govee built the mic that listens to music into an oversized remote. The remote is functional and works. You’ll find three buttons: one for power, one for scenes, and one for music sync. But it’s large and serves as the connecting point for the power brick. That means you need a broader space to place the lights to accommodate the remote than you would with other LED strips. Tucking these somewhere narrow like behind crown moulding is going to be difficult at best. Govee sells the DreamColor strips in both 16 feet (5 meters) and 32 feet (10 meters) options. Unfortunately, you can’t connect the light strips like other LED strips. So if 16 feet isn’t long enough, you’ll have to buy 32 feet and cut it down to the length you need. They’re pretty good lights for the price. Unless you need to fit them in a narrow space, or you need more than 32 feet of connected lights, these make for a good choice with more color control. source: https://www.reviewgeek.com/26946/govee-dreamcolor-led-strip-lights-are-a-rainbow-in-your-home/

REVIEW – This is my second opportunity to review a Govee product, with my most recent review being their smart LED strip lighting that I used behind my TV. This time, I’m getting to show off the Wifi Smart Outdoor LED String Lights! As much as a fan as I was about the strip lighting, I will say it upfront that I really love these string lights! What is it? These are a 15 bulbs, remote controlled, LED string light that is rated for outdoor use. What’s in the box? String Lights Remote Control Instruction Book & Govee brochure Design and features These lights are on a 24′ long string with 15 total bulbs. There is a standard electrical plug. Each bulb can be controlled individually, selected lights can be controlled together or all lights can be controlled at once via the Govee app – which was easy to set up this additional unit into my existing setup of lights from Govee. While it can be controlled via the app, the unit also comes with a remote control that comes in very handy. Since these are multi-color LED’s you can adjust the lights to any tone or color that you choose that best fits your situation or preference. Additionally, since it is rated for outdoor use, they can be kept up year-round as well. Setup Simply remove from the box, plugin and string them up as you desire. Follow the step-by-step instructions in the app to get it completely set up for Wifi use. Performance These lights put off a surprising intensity of light for their size and space between each bulb. They illuminate our back patio well, although I will be buying a second strand to connect to it in order to get the rest of the way around our railing. We use these nightly when we let our dogs out for the evening and they provide enough light that we can see them wherever they are at in the back yard as well as on evenings that we are out eating dinner or enjoying some wine. The remote and app make them easy to turn on/off as well as make any color adjustments that we would like. Finally, there is a setting that will allow the lights to “dance” to music that is being played so if you like that sort of thing while having a party, these lights are perfect for you! What I like Bright illuminating bulbs – that are still adjustable to lower brightness levels as needed. Easy install and set-up Can daisy-chain these together with additional units (up to 4 total) to accommodate larger areas. Final thoughts Overall, I’m two thumbs on these lights, Govee is really doing a great job on these lights and I really like the ease of changing the colors, brightness and various modes/scenes that are pre-programmed in the smartphone app. And as I stated above, we will definitely be adding a second string to get it completely around the patio. For those looking for a quality outdoor LED lighting solution, I’d definitely recommend picking up a string or two or three of these lights! View Govee RGBW Bluetooth Bulb String Lights

Everyone wants to experience what a smart home can do for them, but many of us don’t have the money to overhaul our existing home with new technology. Luckily there’s a company called Govee that’s been released various smart home products to the market that are affordable, and can improve your quality of life. The reason why I became interested in Govee products is that the company offers a smart home app on the Google Play Store and the iPhone App Store, and with this app, you can control all of the smart home devices in one. I originally reviewed the Govee smart home Bluetooth LED strip lights, which are still working great to this day and they look excellent on my TV. There is a complete line of Govee products, all of which have different uses in the home. From water quality testers to a temperature tester there are multiple ways to monitor everything that’s going on in your home. In this article I’m going to be examining three new Govee products that I think will transform the way that you live, offering a plethora of features that you can control right from the app. Whether you just want ambient lighting in your home, or you want to detect potential leaks before they become a problem the Govee line of products can help you to live the smart home life. Read on below as I check out these stellar products. Bluetooth Multicolor LED Bulb The ambiance is something that we all strive for at one point or another in our homes, but you can’t always find that relaxing mixture of lighting and sound without the right bulb. The cheap color-changing bulbs that are available on the market now are generally worthless when you try to use them as an ordinary light. So, finding a bulb that could produce amazing colors and still perform in normal lighting settings was a must. Govee has delivered with the Bluetooth MultiColor LED Bulb, a unique lightbulb that can be controlled via Bluetooth on the Govee Home App. Where do we get started? The Bluetooth MultiColor LED Bulb has a multitude of spectacular colors that you can choose from, all of which also have a brightness setting as well. The lightbulb can be set to several different options, for instance, you can set it to warm light for reading and white light for a brighter interior light. There is a menu in the app where you pick different scenes, so let’s say you want to set the mood for romance, the bulb will set the lighting in the room accordingly. There is also an option for the dream light, which is a color-changing light option that looks pretty cool. Another unique feature with the Bluetooth MultiColor LED Bulb is the fact that it can respond to music, which means that this is also a great light for a birthday party or other event. The light is rated at 20,000 hours of life, which means that this little bulb will be around for some time. If you are new to Govee products there is a Back To School Deal on the Govee Home app, from 26th Aug. to 9th Sept. Bluetooth Thermo-Hygrometer Lite Summertime can be a dangerous time, where the temperature outside can get to deadly levels and the humidity can make it feel hotter than it is. Most weather apps that you can get on your phone rely on external information to give you an accurate reading, so you aren’t always getting the correct information for your specific location. Govee has found a solution to this problem with the Bluetooth Thermo-Hygrometer Lite, a unique little Bluetooth device that will give you accurate temperature readings from right where you are. I’ve been using this nifty little device for a week and I have been thoroughly impressed with it, the overall design is top-notch and the quality is above average for such a little device. The battery life on the Bluetooth Thermo-Hygrometer Lite is amazing, at 360 days on a single battery. The Govee Smart Home App allows you to export your temperature data to your email, which is a great way to compile information about the weather in a certain period. The Bluetooth Thermo-Hygrometer Lite provides a very accurate reading of the current temperature and humidity. I have tried the unit both inside and outside and it works great, giving an accurate reading from the first time that I turned it on. If you have a temperature-controlled room and you need to make sure that the humidity is correct, the Bluetooth Thermo-Hygrometer Lite is a must-have item and it’s affordable too. The Back To School Deal on the Govee Home app, from 26th Aug. to 9th Sept is an excellent way to snatch one of these up. If you are still new to this you’ll be pleasantly surprised at just how easy it is to use, and the product manages to show a spectacular amount of information on the Govee Home App. The waterproof design means that you won’t have to worry about the unit being damaged, and there are water detectors on the front and the back of the unit to ensure leak detection.
