The Govee products are easy to set up in whole house and control from your smart phone love these products.
It’s pretty cool I wouldn’t get another for the purpose of lighting up a room. More just a cool light with a range of colors. I now have 2 floor lights 2 different models my room isn’t huge and I would probably need one in each corner for a sufficient amount of light
They love it!
Being I have never been disappointed in any Govee product And was surprised when I received these lamps. Very dim even on the highest brightness setting.
I eagarly awaited my new Govee RGBICW Smart Corner lamp, as I was hoping it would provide a cool way to illuminate some of the art on my walls. If this lamp fit the bill, then my plan would be to order several more. Like may great expectations, reality usually falls a bit short. While I am going to mention the negatives, if you are interested in this product, don't give up. Read to the review to the very end.
My unboxing of the lamp was a bit confusing, as the name on the box is "Govee Lyra Basic Floor Lamp". I am so glad marketing has changes the name of the product because "Basic" is not a great word to describe what you hope ot be a innovative product. It sort of immediately put me off, mostly because I thought I had been shipped the wrong product and I did not expect a floor lamp to come in such a small box.
After fretting for more than an hour, I finally decided to open the box. This was definitely the lamp that I ordered, but... it required very irritating assmebly of the many small aluminum segments to create the upper tube from the base. Connecting the segments required assembling 4 tiny screw into a metal plate that locked the segments together. The main problem I had was that some of the screw holes in the aluminum segments did not seem to be drilled well, so the screws were difficult to get started and tighten correctly. Then once the assmbly was together, the whole tube length appeared a bit wobbly because the segments did not connect perfectly straight, so I ended up having to redo some of the connections, and even then could get the segments to connect without a sliver of a gap. Fortunately, inserting the LED tubing was a breeze. I Plugged it in an turned it on.
The lamp has a very stylish, mimimalistic, but elegant design. It looks great and can fit into almost any decor. Everyone who has seen it, immediately asks about it. So, all the assembly work was definitely worth it (I just wish I had know about it in advance.)
As for my purpose of lighting the art on my walls, it does partially work. The only problem is that instead of the LED tube looking like a long continuous beam of light (as shown in the product photos), each little LED can be seen. This is a bit annoying when looking directly at it. (It seems the product engineers could easily fix this problem by using a more opaque tube.) But the quality of the white light is good, if not outdoors perfect. The light at 100% is quite intense. I actually have been using it set to about 50%.
The final word is as long as you do not mind the tedious assembly, and you want this lamp for general use, I do highly recommend it. For my purposes, and the unboxing and assembly experience, I am subtracting one star.
