First off I love my govee lights.Besides my bathrooms they are in every room of the house, including outside.I get super jealous because my husband and myself game.He uses the livingroom(75" 8k samsung tv) with the backlight camera setup and its nothing short of STUNNING.ESP watching movies and playing anything on the XBOX.I have a samsung monitor setup that I use to work and game and recently I treated myself to neon strip lights for behind my computer (from govee) that are in the shape of a heart.I hate using the overhead lights in my work area because they are hard on the eyes. The heart gives me just the right amount of light on darker days that its raining or something and I need to work. After hooking up these back lights I seen that they can link together!now both my monitor lights and heart change based on what is seen by the little camera on top.I would buy these 5 more times if I had to, and along with the warranty, and customer service help from the people over at govee no wonder the company has grown so much over the years.GOOD FOR THEM!Believe it or not, but I do think that having the back lights on the monitor helps relieve some eye stress from staring at electronics all day too.I have noticed I have a lot less head aches after setting these up.(between working from home and gaming after work I easily sit at the desk up to 12 hrs a day).I tend to get migraines, so this may be worth trying...I posted a reel on my instagram with the lights working and linked together.. thequeenbacon
For many years we have used Philips Hue light strips around out TVs, but I decided to use the Govee strip in our bedroom since it is much more affordable. I love the tracks that are used to install the light strip. It makes it very easy to snap the strip into place and know that its going to be held well. I do actually have the similar Hue strip and this one works just as well. It puts out a lot of light and there is a lot you can do with it color-wise. The strip connected very quickly to the app and I didnt have any issues with the system connecting to our WiFi network. All in all, I think this is a really smart investment if you want light strips. The only downside is that it is not compatible with Apple HomeKit.
I have a 75inch TV that I originally planned on getting this strip for but decided to go with smaller version for my monitor... To test drive. And let me tell you... It is amazing! The colors and brightness are incredible. Check the video (if interested, the song is Shimigami eyes by Grimes) to see for yourself. There is just one small minus: when there is nothing on screen but the screen is on it perceives it as... White? (yellowish white). shouldn't the lights be completely off or dimmed to the minimum? Could it be the angle at which the camera is seeing the screen? Might be something to consider for a newer version. Also, a recommendation for getting the best color reproduction for when watching movies:in the app, when in video->movie mode (as in the video) make sure you select "partial" and not "full" (see the picture)I will definitely be getting this for all my tvs and recommend everyone to get one.
These are really unique, theyre backlit to mimic what is displayed on the tv. Really cool, I recommend!
First, the quality of this back light is really intelligent. Installation is made brain dead simple with a paper template to show where the brackets go. Second, the brackets are really high quality, and fit the light strip perfectly. Third, the instructions are very clear and simple.Once the strip is mounted, the magic really happens. I like the design of the camera that monitors the screen, as it's really sleek and adds a modern element to the setup. The strip itself is much beefier than I expected, really thick and snugly fits in the brackets. The installation took maybe 15 minutes. Once hooked up, the show starts, with beautiful backlighting reflecting what's on your screen. But, like other Govee lights I have, the real magic is the app that allows a light show when the monitor is not in use. Adds a gorgeous display all over the walls. In summary, this is a high quality product with thoughtful installation instructions, and a clean design. Just spectacular, no bad words to say.
