works great in our freezer
Downloaded the app but was frustrated (at first) with loading the probe. Finally figured it out and from there it was very easy. Probe works well and is easy to download data. The bees are interested, but seem to tolerate the device. Recommended!!
Works great. Easy setup.
Uses readily-available AAA cell batteries instead of coin cells. For those writing 3rd party apps for this sensor, the device can be identified by the local name in the Bluetooth advertising packet starting with GVH5174. Temperature can be found in the manufacturer's data, bytes 4 and 5 (starting with 0). Bit 7 of byte 4 is a sign bit. The rest of byte 4 together with the high 6 bits of byte 5 are the temperature in increments of 0.1 degrees C. Not sure where the humidity is in the packet. Of all the Bluetooth temperature sensors out there, this one is the best for simply reading the temperature. The manufacture's app does much more, like logging, but I didn't test it because me need was only for my 3rd party app.
Bluetooth devices have a hard time connecting and staying connect, even when they are close and unobstructed. They always seem to be able to connect and download, but hey fall short when you just want a dashboard display of instantaneous values. The WiFi devices seem to work much better.
Please make sure that the Bluetooth is within the range of connection. Please feel free to contact us via firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any further questions, we will help you out.
