The Govee lights were easy to install and get running. The app is a little crowded with stuff but it’s okay. They work great with Alexa, and I love controlling my lights via Wi-Fi. The colors aren’t as great as the website makes them out to be. I’ve honestly found little difference in coloration compared to cheaper bulbs (like Merkury for example) but the app does provide unique control and fade options for them. All in all, they’re decent, 4/5.
These bulbs are amazing. The price. The capabilities. The community feedback. it's an amazing and fun experience owning these bulbs. I love them.
The app is my favorite part. Govee has allowed it's users to create and share scenes, functions and more straight in the app. Make your bulb resemble a fire flicker? You can share it. Want your bulb to strobe like your favorite retro game? Search and you'll likely find a community created affect that does just that.
These bulbs are flawless.... Well almost. The voice control with google assistant works very well. In fact it's easy to set up.
But, the color accuracy when asking google to change colors or changing them through the google home app is not there. Most of the colors match, but a few are very off. For instance I wanted a mild white and the bulb changed to purple.
This is not a problem at all through the Govee app. Nor is it a lack of color accuracy and options. I believe this to be a case of the two platforms not quite understanding each other.
The lights overall are great. What would make them amazing is in the Smarts tab of the app, you can select the same color for multiple lights, but not the same scene. If I want the gradient scene, I have to go in and select it for each one, well now they are all cycling at different intervals. Make scenes available in the smarts section of the app, then it would be amazing!
They work great but i thought they would work with the tv lights
Just wish it had Bluetooth and WiFi with Alexa support!
